What We Do

I am an arts manager with over 15 years experience in performing arts.
I have performed, directed, stage managed, front-of-housed and event coordinated.
My main focus for the last decade has been marketing and communications, with a great deal of copywriting thrown in.
My brand is marketing heavy with a focus on social media/online communities as a way of supporting and advocating for the arts and healthy city living from the perspective of someone who had led marketing initiatives for various arts organizations, be they large, small or cross- disciplinary, as someone who cares about the city and sees the arts as a way to enrich that.

I was born and raised in Alberta, and completed my post-secondary education in Edmonton at the University  of Albera, where I studied Education, English and Sociology. After working as an Early Childhood Educator in London, Ontario for two years I moved to Toronto in the Fall of 2012. In January 2013, eager to change careers and pursue my interests in the Arts Admin world, I began working Sue as a part time Intern. A few months later I became the Communications Coordinator and second official employee of Sue Edworthy Arts Planning! My focus lies in social media and public relations and when I’m not working with Sue, I can be found doing social media work for Bad Dog Theatre Company (sometimes on stage with them too!) and I am also a regular contributor for She Does the City.

What does this have to do with your project? Everything.

By looking at and working on various types and sizes of performing arts projects, we are able to avoid the cookie-cutter approach. We understand and value the unique flavour you bring to your art, and that your art brings to your audience. We know that every project is different, and every performer needs different assistance. We work with you to recognize any number of factors that will affect your production, including Where, When, Why, and How. We’ll work together to target your audience and find out the best way to let them know your project is happening.  Since we’ve worked in many positions in the arts, we know you probably don’t have a lot of time, or money – and we don’t believe in wasting either one.

What sort of services do we provide?

Organizational planning~ marketing project management ~marketing and communications planning for projects, productions and seasons~ simple website creation~ social media planning, execution and maintenance~ marketing, branding and social media policy creation~ brand examination, review and refresh~ copywriting..

Sue also offer workshops in: making the ask for fundraising and social media engagement.
